Colorado Fall Color

Fall 2011

Ouray and Telluride lie nestled among the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado.  This mountain range in noted for its steep slopes and for the greatest collection of peaks in excess of 14,000 feet in the United States.

I traveled to Ouray as part of a course with American Nature Photography Workshops, with hopes of shooting Colorado’s famous fall color.  We were lucky, the Aspens were peaking and we had great weather - a combination that maximizes good photography.

I traveled with a friend, Mike, who is a good nature photographer but whom had never taken a workshop and on the trip, we met two brothers who were also taking their maiden photo trip.  To say the least, we had a really good time and no matter how many of these workshops that I take, I  learn something new.
