Dominican Republic

Because of security problems in the Dominican Republic, it was extremely hard to get a sense of the culture.  At one restaurant, we had the chance to see some merengue dancing, but for the most part, many of the images below were taken from our minivan as we drove throughout the country.  Poverty is rampant, and we saw people sitting along the roadside.  Many people ride motorbikes which were ubiquitous throughout the country.
