We saw lions and cheetahs almost every day.  Leopard, by contrast, are solitary animals and very difficult to see.  While some groups saw them twice, our group only saw them once.  Some people go to the Mara and never see a leopard, so i felt lucky.

The cats are use to the trucks so we were able to get very close to the animals.  At times, I could have touched a lion or cheetah we were so close, but clearly we did not and we never left the vehicles.  As our guides said, “ once you leave the vehicle, you’re food”.

Lions and leopards are two of the “big five.”
