This was my second visit to the Palouse.  This was a private trip organized with five friends who are all members of the Thousand Oaks Photo Group, a local photo club in our area.

Since we were on our own, we had to find sites across an extremely large area of paved, gravel and dirt roads through the farmland of eastern Washington.  Even though there were lots of photographers in the region, the area is so large that we rarely saw another photographer.

The Palouse Chamber of Commerce has a map of barns, silos and farm equipment that are potential photographic sites.  Using the map and GPS, we spent five days on a “treasure hunt” locating sites to photograph.  Luckily, one of our group, Pete Scifres, is really good a map reading and navigating and was very successful in finding items on the map.

We had lots of fun.
